About Us

The Ontario Graphite Value Proposition

With the largest confirmed mineral resource of any North American graphite prospect, a previously operational mining facility and the industry expertise of a superior management team, Ontario Graphite Ltd. is uniquely positioned to be the best graphite mining and production operation in North America. We are proud of the value we can offer to our customers, our investors, our community and our current and future employees.

Several positive factors will allow the Kearney Mine to reactivate production at a low cost by Q3 2020:
  • Extensive Existing Investment in Operating Infrastructure: The restart of the Kearney Mine benefits from approximately $70 million in existing mine and mill infrastructure which provides OGL with a significant competitive advantage compared to other potential competitors.
  • Large Deposit in a First-World Location: The Mine hosts large amounts of known Measured and Indicated Mineral Resources conducive to inexpensive open pit mining in an easily accessible location in a stable, first-world nation. This will help ensure stable and reliable long- term delivery of a consistent quality product to all customers.
  • Operating and Marketing History: Having been at one time a fully operational facility, the Mine has produced a product that is known and highly regarded in the marketplace, and its processing facilities have been preserved in remarkable condition.
  • Attentive and Focused Management: Ownership and management are well positioned to help ensure early and optimal future processing operations.
  • All Operating Permits Secured: All relevant ministries have approved final operating permits required for the re-commissioning of the Kearney Mine.
  • Easy Access to Skilled Labour: The Mine is in a central location, close to equipment suppliers, construction services and skilled, experienced construction and operations personnel.
  • Easy Access to Market: The Mine is located approximately 250 km north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is therefore ideally situated for ease of transportation of product to end-users, in the North American marketplace.
From a competitive standpoint, Ontario Graphite compares very favorably relative to other potential producers. In addition to the Company’s ability to ramp up to full production capacity within one year, Ontario Graphite will seek to lever the following operational advantages:
  • High Quality and Full Service Capability: Based on past operations, sales records and laboratory testing, the Kearney Mine will produce larger flake, high quality, low impurity, commercially attractive graphite product.
  • Direct Marketing to End-Users: Because of its product quality, Ontario Graphite will have the ability and intends to sell directly to end-user customers, allowing for better response to customers’ needs, development of stronger customer relations and improved margins.
  • Limited Direct Competition: Currently, there is minimal natural graphite production from two operating mines in Canada, one of which is nearing depletion of its resource. A number of greenfield projects are significantly behind Ontario Graphite on the development curve. There is no current natural graphite production in the United States and none slated for the foreseeable future. It is likely that in two years, the Kearney Mine will be the sole producer of natural flake graphite in North America. It has the largest confirmed mineral resource of any North American graphite project, and one of the largest individual deposits outside of China and North Korea.
  • Competitive Operating Cost: Production costs will be competitive with other producers’ delivered cost and the Mine will be better able to withstand price fluctuations in the marketplace.
